Welcome to St. Raphael!
St. Raphael Academy is safe, nurturing community in which our students receive an academically rigorous education and something more: the building blocks of spiritual and character formation, with a focus on kindness and respect. Serving children in prekindergarten through third grade, with two classes at each grade level, we provide opportunities and experiences that are age appropriate to the development of our children.
As a Catholic school, we are committed to educating the whole child – body, mind and spirit. Our students follow a solid, developmentally appropriate academic curriculum that includes Literacy, Mathematics, Technology and Science. We have daily Religion classes and celebrate Mass as a school the first Friday of every month. We welcome children from all faith traditions and cultural backgrounds as these add to our wonderful diversity.
We are also committed to social emotional learning, with our counselor providing weekly lessons following the Second Step Curriculum as well as teachers implementing Yale University’s RULER program within the classroom. The goal of these programs is to build the capacity of our students to recognize, label, and regulate their emotions in order to be available to learn and live healthy lives. St. Raphael Academy is also the recipient of the Diocese of Bridgeport’s Foundations in Education Grant for Innovation and Leadership which will allow us to create a sensory pathway within our school to assist in meeting the needs of our students.
Thank you for taking the time to explore and learn about our school We invite you to contact our school to visit and experience Christ-centered learning in a warm community environment first-hand. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully to having you as a member of our school community!
Peace,
